Nov 3, 2026: record revenue, a raised guide and a $4 billion backlog
BETA closed Nov 2 at $20.38, after recovering from a low of $17.68 on Oct 14. It reported before the open, and premarket trading ranged from $20.22 to $22.99. The stock opened at $22.46, held a low of $22.23 in the first minute, and reached $24.37 at 9:45am. At 11:50am it was $23.48, up 15.2%, on about 2.0 million shares, about 1.3 times its 20-day average volume for a full day.
What moved the stock:
- Revenue nearly doubled and beat by a wide margin. Revenue of $17.7 million came from $5.2 million of products and $12.5 million of services, all organic, and topped both the company's own guidance range and estimates of about $10.8 million.
- Guidance went up. Full-year revenue guidance rose to $52 million to $57 million, while the adjusted EBITDA loss guide stayed at $400 million to $445 million.
- The backlog grew. Commercial aircraft backlog rose to just over $4.0 billion, or 1,040 aircraft in firm and option orders backed by financial commitments, ahead of the year-end target.
- Peers did not move with it. Joby was up 1.0% and Archer down 0.1% late in the morning, so the gain was about BETA's own report.
At 11:50am RSI(14) was 65, and the stock was 19.6% above its 20-day average, 13.1% above its 50-day and 23.8% above its 200-day average.
The numbers
| Measure | Q3 2026 | Year earlier | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | $17.7 million | $8.9 million | +98% |
| Net loss | $119.1 million | $437.2 million | narrower |
| Adjusted EBITDA | -$97.4 million | -$67.6 million | wider by 44% |
| Capital spending | $28.8 million | $13.0 million | +122% |
| Cash and equivalents | $1,343.1 million | $687.6 million | +95% |
The year-earlier net loss included a large loss on the issuance of convertible preferred stock, so the narrower loss this year says little about the trend. The adjusted EBITDA loss is the better gauge, and it widened as research spending rose; non-cash warrant expense tied to the GE Aerospace collaboration added $5.8 million. Our explainer on adjusted EBITDA covers what that measure leaves out. At the guided loss rate plus recent capital spending, cash covers roughly two and a half years, which is the main reason the company does not need to raise money soon.
The bull case
BETA has two businesses, which sets it apart from most electric aircraft developers. It sells aircraft, motors and chargers now, and the services line, at $12.5 million in the quarter, shows customers paying for flight operations and support before certification. The FAA market survey authorization lets it fly customers on board, and it has launched six of the seven selections in the FAA's eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, carrying medical supplies and emergency equipment in North Carolina, Texas and Utah.
A beat this large on a small revenue base also tends to pull estimates up, which our guide to earnings estimate revisions explains. With the stock 40% below its high and the average target at $32, there is room for the price to keep recovering as those numbers move.
The risks
The company still loses about $100 million a quarter before non-cash items, and the full-year guide implies the loss stays near that pace. Type certification for passenger service is a regulatory process with its own timeline, and our page on regulatory approvals as catalysts explains why those dates tend to slip. A slip, or a need to raise equity, would hit a stock whose market value is nearly 100 times this year's guided revenue.
The backlog also needs care. It includes option orders, and our explainer on the book-to-bill ratio shows why orders that are not yet firm count for less than revenue already booked.
What comes next
There is no scheduled report before year end. The next dated catalyst is the fourth-quarter report early next year, when the company will set 2027 guidance. Before then, watch for progress on type certification, more launches under the FAA pilot program, any new defense or cargo orders, and whether the stock holds today's $22.23 low. Our page on what makes a stock catalyst explains how to rank news like this, and the rest of the session's movers are in today's biggest stock moves.
